Violet M. Alfson, 97 of Fargo passed away May 21, 2011 at ManorCare Nursing Home, Fargo, ND. Violet was born September 22, 1913 to Hans and Gertrude (Stensgard) Hanson in Fargo. She was baptized at Grong Lutheran Church, Rollog, MN. She grew up and attended school in Moorhead. She married Reuben Alfson in May, 1938. Violet is survived by four of her five children, Janice (Vel) Smith, Edmonds, WA; Dennis (Josie) Alfson, Snohomish, WA; Jeanne (Vern) Kading, Fargo and Carole Markovic, Fargo; six grandchildren, Chris, Andrea, Kevin, Randy, Leslie and Lisa; eleven great-grandchildren, Katie, Shelby, Preston, Kanisha, Jeniece, Samantha, Jessica, Erik, Kyle, Bridger and Landon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben and son, Gary; sisters, Lillian, Helen, Adeline, Kathryn, Dorothy and Betty; brothers, Gordon, Kenneth and Clayton.
