Obituary
Vernie Nelson of Lengby, Minnesota passed away following surgery in Fargo, ND on Jan. 20, 2020.
Vernie was born in Lengby on February 24, 1935 in the family log cabin. She loved the farm and she and her sister Colly enjoyed their childhood among their beloved animals. Vernie had a passion for music and enjoyed her piano and accordion.
Vernie and her husband Ray enjoyed many years together serving as missionaries in Colombia, South America. They faithfully continued their evangelizing here in the far north while supporting the local congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Vernie will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband, Ray; her sister, Colly; and two nieces – Michal and Kathy, both living in Washington state.
A memorial will be held in her remembrance at 2 pm, Saturday, February 22, 2020, at the Old Gymnasium in Clearbrook, MN.
