Tom McDonald, 77, of Erhard, MN, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2017 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND.
Thomas Wade McDonald was born December 5, 1939 to Jefferson and Thelma (Collins) McDonald in Gallipolis, OH. He graduated from Greenon High School in Springfield, OH. Tom worked as a Divisional Manager for Red Owl Foods in Fargo, ND.
Tom married Kathryn Enders Lange in Minot, ND on May 4, 1985. Together they operated several independent McDonald and Sollums grocery stores throughout North Dakota, and later operated a bar and resort called “The Last Resort” on Long Lake near Fergus Falls, MN.
Tom enjoyed golfing, fishing and mostly spending time with his family.
Tom is survived by his wife, Kathryn; children, Tom McDonald, Jr., Fargo, ND; Debbie (Howard) Hustad, Springfield, OH; Kathy Anway, Springfield, OH; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Peggy Becraft; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Garret; and brothers, Billy and Danny.
Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 1:00pm, Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND.
VISITATION: One hour prior to the service.
