Sonja Teigen, 85, died Saturday, May 11, 2024, in Fargo surrounded by her husband and daughters.

Sonja Marie Leverson was born on September 9, 1938, to Bessie and Curnell Leverson in Fargo, ND. She graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1956.

Sonja was employed at Starlight Drive-In, Service Drug Store and Hallmark.

Sonja married David Allen Teigen on September 13, 1957, at First Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. She was a choir director at Schofield Barracks, HI and Ft. Riley, KS. She also volunteered as a school nurse.

Sonja is preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Juliet (Charles) Johnson and Beverly Hoff, grandchildren; Aaron and Kelsey Nelson, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She is survived by her husband, children; Ann Marie (Steve) Brown, Patti Jo (Randy) Nelson and Carol Jeanne (Brad) Olson, grandchildren; Eric (Amanda) Brown, Jeff Brown, Amy (Dan) Huebsch, Jacob Nelson, Britta (Case) Dillon, Joshua (Rylie) Olson, and Maari (Steven) Grundei, great-grandchildren; Lucy and Nolan Brown, Rayna and Addison Olson, brothers; Richard A. (Bev) Leverson and Chester M. N. (Betty) Leverson.
