Shannon Eileen O’Shaughnessy, 36, passed away Thursday, April 21, at the University of Minnesota hospital in Minneapolis, of genetic liver disease and kidney failure, after an 18 month fight. Shannon was born in Fargo, ND, on October 20, 1974. She graduated from Fargo South High School in 1993. She attended Minnesota State Community and Technical College in Moorhead and graduated with a degree in Fashion Marketing and Management in 1996. She became co-owner of Sports Bar in downtown Fargo in 2001. An avid sports fan, Shannon’s favorite teams were the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins. She loved going to games and her knowledge of sports was impressive. She was known by some patrons as “Miss ESPN” because she always knew the latest sports news. Shannon loved to travel, especially to places with a lot of sun. Boating on the lake with her dad was one of her favorite things to do in the summer. She also loved music and going to concerts. One of Shannon’s special talents was bringing people together, and she had many friends. Her beautiful smile and caring nature will be forever missed by those who love her. Shannon was preceded in death by her grandparents. She is survived by her parents, Ted and Marcia, Coleharbor, ND; her sister, Molly, New York City; her brother, John (Kenzie), Fargo; and her beloved dogs, Lola and Kelsey. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 25, at Olivet Lutheran Church, Fargo. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, at Olivet Lutheran Church. Burial will be at a later date.
