Obituary

Severina "Rina" Odette Olson Marx

April 1, 1986 - February 5, 2026

The world lost one of its brightest lights and rainbows when Rina left for her eternal resting place in paradise.

Rina was born in Fargo, ND to Jeffrey and Tamara (Crowe) Olson - an April Fool's baby who came in small and mighty, and she left the same way.

She graduated from Fargo South in 2004, which also happens to be where she met her future husband, KC Marx, in band. KC and Rina were married in Fargo, ND at First Presbyterian Church on June 27, 2009.

Rina was a sponge growing up, wanting to learn anything and everything. She learned how to crochet and knit, making blankets and potholders in fun, diverse patterns. She could play piano and did so every holiday season. She also was proud of her trumpet band roots. To say she was well versed in card and board games would be an understatement as well.

The Wizard of Oz was another passion for Rina. The story, the colors, the music, the SHOES - especially ones that sparkled just like Dorothy's - all gave her joy.

If you knew Rina, you also know she had a way with kids. She was always a mother hen to her siblings, Kane and Lanah, and to all the cousins on both sides. Being able to be goofy with music, being there for her students, learning a new math skill to help with schoolwork, babysitting to the extreme, and knowing how to make the best homemade mac and cheese in the world were among her many talents with children.

Rina was many things: daughter, sister, wife, cousin, niece. However, the title she was most thankful and proud to hold was that of mother. She was blessed to have three beautiful sons whom she loved more than anything or anyone in the entire world. Aiden Robert, Alijah Charles, and Archer Kane all came into her life when she needed them most. She was so proud to be their mama.

Rina is survived by her husband, KC Marx; her sons, Aiden, Alijah, and Archer Marx; her parents, Jeffrey and Tamara Olson; her brother, Kane (Paige) Olson; her sister, Lanah (Kaelan) Akvik; her cousin-like-a-sister, Jessica (TJ) Lindsey; her step grandmother, Phyllis Crowe; her nephews, Hawkins Olson and Henry Akvik; her nieces, Eleanor and Delia Akvik and Marjorie Olson; her godchildren, Liam, Grayson, and Wyatt Lindsey; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, LaRoy Olson and Marilynn Martell; her maternal grandparents, Robert and Jean Crowe; her grandparents-in-law, Francis and Ruth Wilke; her uncles, Dale and Kevin Olson; and her aunt, JuliAnne Olson.

Rina loved pink and anything that sparkled. If you attend her funeral, we ask that you wear pink or anything bright and shiny to celebrate the beauty that was Severina Odette.
