Ruth Rostad

Ruth Elaine Rostad was born on September 29, 1924, near Thompson, ND, to Ingvald and Marie (Nelson) Sylvester. After age seven, following the death of her parents, Ruth lived with various relatives in Thompson, ND, Davenport, ND, California and Bertha, MN. She graduated with a degree in nursing from Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis, MN in 1945, where she worked as a registered nurse until her marriage to Dr. Philip E. Rostad in 1946. They lived in Trinidad, British West Indies, where Philip served in the Army Dental Corps. In 1948, they made their home in the Fargo-Moorhead area. Ruth is survived by her four children, Susan Davidson (Doug) Albuquerque, NM, Tom (Genie) Madison, WI, Ann Haggart (Todd) Fargo, ND, David (Cheryl) Kindred, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Philip, and brother Howard Sylvester. Memorial Service: Monday, June 7, 2010, at 10:00 AM, at First Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND.
