Rudy L. Mason, 70, Fargo, died Wednesday, January 27, 2016 in Rosewood on Broadway, Fargo, ND.

Rudy Lamar Mason was born in Jackson, Mississippi April 22, 1945 to Carlos and Dorothy (Leach) Mason.

On June 7, 2008 he married Virginia “Gin” Gill Ohnstad. They made their home in Fargo, ND, where Rudy was a prep cook at Perkins. Together they had five children.

Rudy was an amazing Christ-centered man who loved his wife and family with his whole heart. He loved the Lord, he liked to go to estate sales looking for something to add to his collections or start a new collection. He spent time in thrift stores to see what he could find. He liked camaraderie and community. He spent time playing card. He never shied away from work. No job was beneath him. Volunteering and working for the Lord. He was a man of patience.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia “Gin”, Fargo; sons, Bryan (Amy) Mason, Iowa City, IA and Gregory (Rachel) Mason, Duluth, MN; daughters, Amy (Robert) Goble, Lubbock, TX and Dorothy (Don) Russel, Valley City, ND; step-son, Thomas Ohnstad, Fargo, ND; eleven grandchildren and three dogs, Lady, Squirt and Jesse James.
