Ronald L. Cantler, 80, Fargo, ND, died Friday, April 21, 2017, at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.

Ron was born March 1, 1937 in Delta, Pennsylvania, to Walter and Netta (MacTaggert) Cantler. He grew up and graduated high school there.

Ron served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1959. He married Elizabeth “Betty” Solberg on August 26, 1957. They made their home in Fargo, where they raised their three children. Ron worked for Northern States Power Company from 1959 until his retirement in 1992.

Survivors include his wife, Betty; daughter, Heidi Hauger, Fargo, ND; son, Chris (Dawn) Cantler, Abercrombie; grandchildren, Sara (Mike) Mead, Shawn (Jenny) Cantler, Chase Cantler, Sydney Cantler and Holli Hauger; great-grandchildren, Myles, Ryland, Sylas, Elsy, Kyler Mead; Lillian Booke; and Carson Cantler; four sisters, Isabelle (Gordon) Coley, Lawton, OK, Janet Sowards, Red Lion, PA, Margaret Johnson, Bel Air, MD, Lydia (John) Vickers, Delta, PA, and one brother, Leslie Cantler, York, PA.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; son, Marty; great granddaughter, Kirstin Booke; five brothers and two sisters.
