Roger Stansbury, 71, beloved Brother and Uncle, was called to his eternal resting place on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the VA Medical Center in Fargo, ND.
He entered this world on January 2, 1945 in Northwood, ND, born to Kenneth and Evelyn (Eberhardt) Stansbury. He went to school in Sharon, ND, graduating from high school in 1964. He then attended Mayville State University and graduated with a BS Degree in 1969. After teaching for a year, he entered the US Army. He was stationed in Germany for his service during the Vietnam era.
Upon his discharge from the military, Roger returned to North Dakota where he began his work as a Social Worker with Southeast Human Service Center. He worked there for 35 years, retiring in 2012. Roger enjoyed outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing, gardening, and backpacking and he was famous for his wild game feeds and storytelling.
Roger is survived by his sister, Debra (Mike) Schutt, Milnor, ND; brother, Dale (Sheryl) Stansbury, Glendive, MT; nieces and nephews, Jasmine (Ryan) Smith, Mark (April) Stansbury, Michelle Schutt, Eric (Sophie) Kjar, Michael Stansbury, Spencer Schutt, and Maggie Schutt; and several great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Melody Stansbury; and brother, Monte Stansbury.
