Rita Jean Kind passed into heaven on April 6, 2023. She was born Rita Joa to Hildegard Joa on July 5, 1946, in St. Paul, Minnesota.

She grew up in foster homes until graduating from Stillwater High School in Minnesota. Eventually, she moved to Moorhead, where she met Robert Kind. They wed and made a home and family in Fargo, North Dakota.

Rita worked many factory jobs in Fargo. Somehow, she found the time to raise two boys and graduate with a Bachelor of Social Work from Moorhead State.

Rita was very much into her friends, family, and community. She was a member of Volksmarch and the Fargo-Moorhead Community Theater. She enjoyed bowling, reading, old movies, and family vacations.

Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her inlaws, Martha and Julian, and her mother, Hilde.

Rita Jean was one of a kind, to say the least. She will be missed by her boys, Anthony and Jason.
