Renée Ann (Paulson) Alsop, 65, of Fargo, ND and Detroit Lakes, MN died Saturday, October 3, 2015 of an aneurysm. Renée Ann was born November 4, 1949 in Aberdeen, SD and spent several years in Fullerton and then moved to Jamestown, ND.
In 1955 the Paulson family moved to Fargo, where Marie started as a District Manager for Avon and remained in that position for fifty years.
Renée graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1967. She graduated in 1969 with a degree in nursing from Wahpeton State School of Science. Renée was a surgical nurse at St. John’s Hospital in Fargo, ND. She married John Richard (Dick) Alsop on November 27, 1971 in Fargo, ND. They made their home in Fargo, ND where they raised their two sons, James and Andrew.
Renée was involved in various family businesses and was the Secretary and Treasurer of Acme Investment Company. She was involved in Junior League of Fargo-Moorhead and co-founded the Children’s Museum at Yunker Farm. She was on the Chapter at Gethsemane Cathedral, where she was a member.
Dick and Renée enjoyed their time at their lake home in Detroit Lakes, MN where she was involved with the Lake Detroiters Association as the Treasurer for the past ten years. They enjoyed traveling during the winter months exploring Texas, Florida and other warm locations. Community involvement was an important part of her life.
Renée is survived by: her husband Dick; her son, James; her son, Andrew (Jessica) and granddaughter, Madeline Alsop of Fargo; her brother, Robert Paulson (fiancé Krystyna Krupa); and niece, Bobbie Jean Paulson. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Adair (Jerry Jorgenson) of Golden Valley, MN and two nephews, John and Charlie Adair. Renée was preceded in death by her mother, Marie Paulson; father-in-law, John Alsop; mother-in-law, Louise Alsop; and Aunt, Elizabeth Alsop.
Memorials may be given to Gethsemane Cathedral or a charity of your choosing.
