Ray Pfahl passed away peacefully at the age of 89 Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Elim Care Center under the care of Sanford Hospice. Ray was born July 3, 1936, to Robert and Willhemina Pfahl (Zimmerman) in Venturia, North Dakota. He grew up in Venturia. On January 7, 1961, he married Betty Lou Brinkman. They had three children together Stephen, Valerie, and Crystal.

Ray married Carol Jean Johnson in Minneapolis, MN, on September 4, 1981. They eventually made their home in Fargo, North Dakota.

Ray enjoyed watching and following the Minnesota Twins. He was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Willhemina Pfahl; brothers, Bobby Pfahl and Lester Pfahl; sister, Marie Spitzer; wife, Carol Pfahl; and grandchildren, Dustin Pfahl, Tiffanie Schroeder, and Karter Pfahl.

He is survived by Stephen Pfahl (Sharon Walz), Valerie Schroeder (Curtis Gregor), Crystal (Todd) Reber and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
