Peter Joseph Pickar was born August 9, 1931 in Sebeka, MN to Peter J. and Alma (Grewing) Pickar. He died February 4, 2017 at Sanford Health Palliative Care, Fargo, ND after a battle with cancer.

Peter attended country school in Wadena Township. He then moved to ND where he worked for area farmers. He was in the US Army from September 26, 1952 until being honorably discharged on August 31, 1960. He then returned to work on the farm of Boyd Callahan and Bessie Ellbers of Pillsbury, ND.

He married Marion (Shiek) Lattimore at St. Agatha’s Church in Hope, ND on November 3, 1973. They farmed until retirement in January 1993 and continued to live on the farm until they moved to Fargo, ND in the fall of 2011.

Peter is survived by 2 step sons, Marvin Lattimore, Columbia Falls, MT and Mark (Brenda) Lattimore, Fargo, ND; 1 brother, Richard Pickar, Finley, ND; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Peter was preceded in death by his parents, Peter J. and Alma Pickar; wife, Marion Pickar; one step son, Gregory (Marlene) Lattimore, Mandan, ND; two brothers, Irwin and Robert Pickar and three sisters, Cora Rust, Grace Juen and Mabelle Beilke.
