Paul Thompsen

Paul Edward Thompsen of Tucson AZ, passed away September 9, 2025 in Brady, TX at the age of 76.

Born in 1949 in Fargo, ND, to Thoralf and Hedvig Thompsen, he graduated from Thornton High School in Thornton, CO, later enrolling at the nearby Colorado School of Mines. There he met Peggy Garrison in 1968, and the two married in Golden, CO in 1969. He competed his studies earning his bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering in 1971, then commenced on a 45-year career in the mining and metals industry.

Paul was a member of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration, a dedicated baseball fan, and a devoted father, husband and grandfather.

He was predeceased by his wife Peggy. He is survived by brothers Loren, Harold, and Philip Thompsen, sister Naomi Franek; children, David Thompsen, Jeffrey Thompsen, and Julie Bell; and five grandchildren.
