Pat was born in Kinsley, Kansas, on May 21, 1941. She loved growing up in her small town, spending time with her beloved grandparents, taking baton lessons, and insisting dates take both her and her grandmother to Saturday night movies.
She was a cheerleader, worked as a soda jerk, taught twirling lessons, and was named Kansas Junior Fancy Strut Champion two years in a row. She enjoyed Trigonometry in high school: "Nine boys and one girl--me--1 had lots of help."
She attended Fort Hays State University, joined Delta Zeta Sorority, performed as a twirler for the marching band, and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education in 1963.
She moved to Kansas City and taught for five years, from grades two to six. She married Jeff Reynolds in 1964, and was my medical office manager in Hays, Kansas, for 14 years. While in Hays she joined P.E.O., leading this year to her Golden Girl 50-year membership pin. We adopted two kids, Amy, a multi-decades registered nurse, and Aaron, a 21-year Navy submariner, now doing cyber security with NORAD. We have three grandchildren.
Pat and I moved here in 1987. She soon joined Fortnightly, and served as its President in its 100th year.
For all of her life she has cherished friendships; she's often said ,"My friends are my glory."
We've enjoyed traveling, particularly to Kansas City, to see old friends; New Orleans (20+ times, both for medical meetings and for fun); and Hong Kong (we spent my Viet Nam R&R leave and our 35th anniversary there).
Osteoarthritis has severely limited Pat's mobility for some time, particularly in the past five years, and eventually caused us to choose Hospice care at Sanford Broadway. Pain was controlled, and life ended gently and humanely on June 27, 2025.
