Ora Jeannine Nicholls, 87, of Moorhead, MN died on Thursday, March 8, at Eventide on Eighth in Moorhead, MN.

Jeannine was born October 22, 1930 in Ypsilanti, ND the daughter of Martin and Avis (Gifft) Lund. After attending Ypsilanti School, she took business classes at Mrs. Matchie’s Business School in Jamestown, ND.

Jeannine married her boyfriend of many years, Gene Nicholls, on August 1, 1949 in Moorhead, MN. Shortly after, they moved to Minneapolis where Gene attended Felegrapher’s School. They moved back to Ypsilanti in 1951 when Gene was appointed Rural Mail Carrier.

Upon retirement, they wintered in Mesa, AZ. They moved to Fargo, ND in 1999.

She had many hobbies including counted cross-stitch, sewing, and painting. She enjoyed square dancing, camping, and spending time with family. Together they enjoyed travelling to England, Ireland, Scotland, Norway, Alaska, and Hawaii.

She is survived by her husband, Gene, of Fargo, ND; daughter-in-law, Patricia Nicholls, Spring Lake Park, MN; daughter, Joni (Darcy) Zink, Jamestown, ND; and Guy (Susan) Nicholls, West Fargo, ND; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and a son (Jay).
