Obituary

Odell Quincy Krohn, 92, of Fargo, ND, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026. Odell was born in Bottineau, ND on April 7, 1933, to Bill and Blanche (Smith) Krohn and grew up nearby in Omemee, ND. He graduated from Bottineau High School in 1950 and from NDSU in 1954, receiving a degree in pharmacy. Odell met Marjorie Fay shortly after graduating from college and told his friend the next day he was going to marry her. They were married less than three months later and enjoyed over 71 years together.

Odell began his pharmacy career in Bottineau, ND. In 1956, he and Marge moved to Williston, ND, where they were charter members of the Fellowship Presbyterian Church. In 1961, Odell and Marge purchased a drugstore in Harvey, ND (Krohn's Service Drug). They raised five children in Harvey, with a focus on education and integrity. They brought into the family exchange students from all over the world, and their children were educated into various careers of service. After retiring, Odell and Marge moved to Fargo in 2010.

Odell said he was grateful for a full, happy life and that he had three great loves. First was his family. He dearly loved his wife, and his children, 16 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. His second love was his life as a pharmacist and business owner, and he viewed his employees and customers as extended family. Third, he loved his horses. Odell raised Morgan horses, and he spent many happy hours at his hobby farm, caring for his beloved four-legged friends. Odell was active in the ND Morgan Horse Association, and some of his favorite times were on trail rides in western North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, and other locations.

Odell was a life-long fan of the Bison, the MN Twins, and the Vikings (even when the Vikings broke his heart!). He was also a thoughtful and avid student of history, and he loved to discuss theology and history with his close friends and family. His library contains a full selection of presidential biographies and other books he read by noted historians and theologians, along with books about horses and sports figures.

Odell was a member of First Lutheran Church of Harvey, ND and then of Olivet Lutheran Church in Fargo, ND. He was an active member of Kiwanis International for over 62 years. At various times, he had leadership positions in the ND Pharmacists Association, his church, and Kiwanis International, and he received a number of service and professional awards, including the A.H. Robins Bowl of Hygeia for his work in pharmacy.

Odell's favorite Bible passage was Micah 6:8, which asks what the Lord requires of you and answers, "to act justly, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God." Odell lived his life with those words in his heart.

Odell is survived by the love of his life, Marjorie (Fay) Krohn; his children, Nancy (David) Young, Kelly Krohn, Kristy (Jay) Albrecht, Brenda (Tim) Graumann, and Tom (Melissa) Krohn; his 16 grandchildren, Adam (Kristine Wilson) Young, Micah Young, Molly (Subodh Arora) Young, Alex (Mic) Krohn, Ian Krohn, Cara Kennedy, Shane Krohn, Mia Krohn, Katie (Tony) Soderberg, Emily (Nick) Bjore, Benjamin (Maggie) Albrecht, Ethan (Kelsey) Graumann, Evan (Rachael) Graumann, Emily (Jacob) Otwell, Joshua Krohn, and Matthew Krohn; eleven great grandchildren; six grandsons from Mozambique and four exchange students, Martin Kammer, Eva Reman, Rosa and Claudio Carvajal.
