Nicholas Alexander Voulgarakis died unexpectedly on Thursday August 10, 2017 in Fargo North Dakota at the age of 43.
Nick is survived by his fiancé, Sara Joelson, Glyndon, MN; children, Brittany (Isaac) Bolin; Christian Voulgarakis, Fargo, ND; Mathew Voulgarakis, Fargo, ND; granddaughter, Elizabeth, Glyndon, MN; parents, Matthew and Cindy Voulgarakis, Fargo, ND; siblings, William (Heather George) Voulgarakis, St. Paul, MN; and Catherine (Robert) Suarez, Hendersonville, NC.
Nick was born on October 13th, 1973 in Fargo, ND to Matthew and Cindy Voulgarakis. He graduated from Fargo North High in 1992. Nick was very active in ROTC in High School. In 1992 President George Bush awarded Nick and his unit with one of the Points of Light for his service and accomplishments. He has worked the last 24 years for the US Postal Service with several positions. He enjoyed the outdoors like hunting and fishing. Yard work was always on the agenda and usually meant helping other friends and family’s as well. Sara was the love of his life and his granddaughter, Ella was the apple of his eye. He was so looking forward to meeting his new granddaughter due this coming November.
When Nick met Sara 3 years ago, a light lit up in his eyes and they were both so truly happy and had so much fun together. He was so excited to ask her to marry him last Christmas and for them to enjoy the rest of their lives together. They both enjoyed the outdoors, going to local breweries and spending time with family. Nick’s granddaughter was born February of 2016 and she changes his world again. He absolutely loved spending time with her and spoiling her rotten. She loved going over to her grandpa’s house just across the alley to eat whatever she wanted and to play on the swing with him.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Salvation Army or Make-a-Wish Foundation.
