Myrtle Quittschreiber, 87, of Fargo, ND, died Monday, September 12, 2011, at Bethany Retirement Living, Fargo, ND. Myrtle Martha Fraase was born December 9, 1923, in Anselm, North Dakota, daughter of William and Laura (Sommerfeld) Fraase. She grew up in Embden, North Dakota. She graduated from St. Mary’s high school in Richardton, ND, in 1941. Myrtle married Lowell Quittschreiber on December 19, 1943, in Moorhead, Minnesota. They farmed near Grandin, North Dakota, and moved to Fargo in 1958. Myrtle worked as an accountant for Scheel’s Hardware as an accountant and for Minnesota State University-Moorhead until her retirement in 1990. Myrtle enjoyed playing bridge with her friends at the Moorhead Center Mall and at the Sons of Norway. She also enjoyed gardening, spending time with her family, and volunteering at First Lutheran Church. Myrtle is survived by two sons, Donald (Ruth Swain) Quittschreiber, West Fargo, ND; and Jim Quittschreiber, Fargo, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lowell, who died in 1962; and her siblings. Funeral Service: Thursday, September 15, 2011, at 10:30 AM, at First Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: Wednesday, September 14, 2011, from 5-7 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
