Mary Jo Vraa

Mary Jo Vraa, 66, of Fargo, ND, died peacefully in the presence of family and close friends at Elim Care Center in Fargo after a valiant fight against cancer. Mary was born on December 31, 1942 in Duluth, MN. She attended business school. She moved to Fargo, ND in 1968, where she soon met her future husband, Henry Nels Vraa. They were married on April 13, 1979. Mary Jo worked as a secretary, most recently at Concordia College for 10 years, after which she moved to Frazer Ltd., where she retired in Sept. 2008. Mary Jo lived a full life. She participated in many clubs and activities. She especially loved rubberstamping and Bingo, but above all, Mary Jo valued time spent with her many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Bessie Baker of Duluth, and her beloved husband, Henry Nels Vraa. She is survived by siblings, Lee (Pat) Baker, Duluth, MN; Marguerite Miller, Pampano Beach, FL; Mark (Sandy) Baker, Esko, MN; Edwin (Judy) Baker, Solon Springs, WI; special niece, Cheri (Baker) Benson; many other nieces and nephews; and many friends who will miss her greatly. The family of Mary Jo would especially like to thank Hope Deutscher and Laura Dickerson and many other friends for their special devotion and contributions of time to Mary Jo during her illness.
