Mary Jo Basol, age 59, after a long battle with cancer, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at the CCU unit at Sanford Medical Center, surrounded by her family.

Wife, Mother, Friend, Caregiver; Mary Jo grew up on a farm near Grandin, ND, the daughter of Joseph L. Anderegg and Ruth (Berg) Anderegg.

She attended Wahpeton College and Minnesota State University, Moorhead, and graduated with a LPN Associates degree in Nursing. Mary Jo worked for 28 years at St. Lukes Hospital, MeritCare (now Sanford), and also their clinics. She always said, “I treat each patient as if they were my family”.

She was selfless and unconditionally loved her husband and their two children. She loved Fall and the great outdoors. Some of her passions included fishing, gardening, hunting, traveling, as well as family vacations. She was loved dearly and will be sorely missed.

She is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 38 years, Stephen, and her children, Stephanie and Matthew; two sisters, Lee Ann (Mark) Stenberg, Moorhead, MN; and Kim (David) Jones of Grand Forks, ND; as well as nieces, nephews and other family and friends that she loved and who loved her.
