Marvin Knapper Sr., 76, of Dilworth, MN, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at Sanford Health, Fargo. Marvin Leroy Knapper Sr. was born March 4, 1935, in Pine River, Minnesota, son of Daniel and Alice (Erickson) Knapper. He served in the U.S. Army, as a helicopter mechanic, from 1956 ~ 1958, at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Marvin married Patricia Goble October 17, 1959, in Dilworth, Minnesota. He was employed as a supervisor at Silver Line Boat Company for 17 years before going to work for Archie’s Place in Dilworth, Minnesota. He retired in 2004. Marvin is survived by his wife, Patricia; four sons, Marvin Jr. (Pamela) Knapper, Breckenridge, MN; Jim (Lindy) Knapper; Tom (Deb) Knapper; and Mark Knapper, all of Dilworth, MN; grandchildren, Jared (Ashley) Knapper; Jessica Knapper; Heath Knapper; Danae Kanpper; David Knapper and Derek Knapper; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Knapper; Kaden Hannestad; Ethan Knapper; and Sylis Knapper; his twin sister, Marie Ellestad; sister, Alice (Carl) Granby; brothers, Albert (JoAnn) Knapper; and Charles (Margaret) Knapper; sisters-in-law, Shirly Knapper and Alvina Knapper. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George (Robin), Ernie (LaDonna), Harold, Irvin and Martin (Edna) Knapper; brother-in-law, Earl Ellestad. Funeral Service: Saturday, October 8, 2011, at 11:30 AM, at Dilworth Presbyterian Church, Dilworth, MN. Visitation: Friday, October 7, 2011, from 6 – 8 PM, at the church in Dilworth. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Glyndon, MN.
