Martha Synnove (Olsen) Rommesmo was born August 25, 1934 in Orkanger, Norway to Sverre and Martha (Viggen) Olsen. She grew up and attended schools in Orkanger. She married Helge Rommesmo November 6, 1954 in Orkanger. They came to America on November 6, 1957 and settled in Fargo, ND.
Synnove raised her family in Fargo and worked at Daytons for 7 years before retiring. She enjoyed spending time at Crystal Lake near Pelican Rapids with her children and grandchildren. She was an active member and volunteer at Hope Lutheran Church, Sons of Norway, Meals on Wheels, and Bethany Homes. She loved gardening flowers, sewing, knitting, crocheting, needlework, and hardanger. She enjoyed traveling, trips back to Norway, and being with her family.
Synnove is survived by her husband, Helge; sons, Stein (Stacy) Rommesmo, Glen (Lynne) Rommesmo, and Eric (Kim) Rommesmo, all of Fargo; 6 grandchildren, Karee, Daniel, Kristian, Jennifer, Kjell and Robynn; and 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Jens (Aud) Olsen, Norway; sisters, Helen Breunig, and Oddvei (Gunnbjorn) Fiskvik, both of Norway; one uncle and several nieces and nephews in Norway and America.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother-in-law Einar Breunig.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Hope Lutheran Church-North Campus or the Sons of Norway Kringen Lodge #25, Fargo.
