Lynn G. Monge, 75, of Fargo, passed away suddenly on Thursday, June 9, 2016 in his home.
Lynn was born on Sept 5, 1940 in Fargo where he grew up and attended school. He graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1958 and went on to join the Army Reserve from 1958-1962. He worked for Red Owl for a few years and went on to work for Wrigley’s Corporation where he was an avid and memorable salesman for many years until his retirement.
Lynn was united in marriage to Joanne Kallander in Hickson, ND on May 11, 1961. They lived in Fargo and had two children, Beth and David.
On November 18, 1989 he married ArNetta (Homme) Anderson in Vergas, MN where they lived for many years on Spirit Lake until moving to Moorhead in 1999 and Fargo in 2010.
Lynn will be remembered for his love of family, huge heart, sense of humor, love of the Green Bay Packers and unmeasured sense of giving of his time and energy to many organizations. He was a selfless and tireless volunteer and he shone brightest when helping others. Some of the organizations he held near and dear to his heart were the Fargo El Zagal Shrine, United Blood Services, Lion’s International Club, Meals on Wheels, his local churches, and was instrumental in facilitating the local Lion’s Clubs to support building the dining hall for Camp Kace (Kids Against Cancer Everywhere).
Lynn will be dearly missed by his wife ArNetta; children Beth Dilbeck and David Monge, both of Fargo; ArNetta’s children Troy Anderson, Harlingen, TX, Heath (Ling-hui) Anderson, Inver Grove Heights, MN, Jared (Susan) Andersson, Chanhassen, MN and Kristine Anderson, Boise, ID; grandchildren Kasey, McKenna, Claire, Harris, Ella, Maya, Ty, and Ava; brothers Larry (Audrey) Monge, Lee Monge, and Wayne (Linda) Monge and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Gorden and Frances Monge.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, Alzheimer’s Association and Grace United Methodist Church, Moorhead, MN.
