Lyle Schulz

Lyle H. Schulz, 80, of Fargo, ND, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Essentia Health, Fargo. Lyle Hartje Schulz was born July 3, 1930, in Grafton, North Dakota, son of Gustaf and Alma (Hartje) Schulz. He lived in Hoople, North Dakota, before moving to Fargo in his teens. He married Mary Lou Werle on February 17, 1951. They made their home in Fargo, where they raised their five children. Lyle worked various jobs until he purchased and operated Blilie Service until 1976. He worked at Minnesota State University-Moorhead until he retired in 1995. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; his children, Ricky (Pam) Schulz, Coal Valley, IL; Lynn (Howard) Gitlestad, Fargo, ND; Gail (Allan) Engebretson, Fargo, ND; Susan (Jack, Jr.) Austin, Phenix City, AL; and Rodney (Doris) Schulz, Minneapolis, MN; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers and two sisters. Funeral Service: Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at 11:00 AM, at Christ the King, Moorhead, MN. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
