Lyle Richard Bladow was born December 4, 1945 on the family farm near Claire City, South Dakota to LeRoy and Delphine (Helmer) Bladow.
He attended school in Hankinson and Lidgerwood, North Dakota graduating from Lidgerwood High School in 1963. He was very proud of being the starting guard on the first Lidgerwood boys basketball team to go to the state tournament.
He attended Seattle Business College graduating with a degree in Accounting.
He married Sharon Wolfe on June 9, 1967 in Sisseton, South Dakota. He was the proud father of 3 sons, Tim, Jeremy, and Jeff. He took his sons on many camping and fishing trips teaching them how to catch walleye.
He was an avid sportsman and taught them baseball and basketball skills.
After working in the Minneapolis, MN area for about 20 years, Lyle took a sales position with Western Paper in Fargo. He received many awards for sales and was a member of the "Presidents Club". He retired in 2006.
After retirement he enjoyed more time for fishing trips and spending time with his granddaughters and attending their activities. He enjoyed playing pinochle on Mondays at the senior center.
Lyle is survived by his wife, Sharon; his sons, Tim (Kat Monson) of Fargo, Jeremy (Monica) of Dilworth, and Jeff (Lindsey) of Fargo; his 3 granddaughters, Kayla (Boe) Miller of Dilworth, Samantha Bladow of Fargo, and Ember Bladow of Fargo; and sister, Lee Ann Jahn of Seattle.
He was preceded in death by his 2 brothers, Loren and Larry Bladow; sister-in-law, Barbara Duncan; 4 brothers-in-law, James, Felix, and Robert Wolfe, and Clarence Jahn; one nephew, Marcus Bladow; and one niece, Heather Petrich.
The family would like to thank the staff at Pioneer House - Fargo Elim for the loving care he received from them the last months of his life. We also want to thank the staff at Sanford Hospice House for the wonderful loving care they gave him in the last 11 days of his life.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the charity of your choice or to Pioneer House at Elim or Sanford Hospice House.
Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
