“Betty” was born in Hunter, ND in March 1918 to John and Leona Powlison Richardson, the youngest of four children. She attended school in Hunter, ND graduating from high school in 1936. She met her husband, Bernard Milsow, in Hunter and was married on June 17, 1938. They resided in Hunter for approximately three years, moving to Enderlin, ND in 1941 where she was given the nickname "Betty" which she used for the rest of her life. Betty and Bernie moved to Fargo, ND in 1942 where she lived until 2010. After raising four boys she worked at the Fargo Clinic in the ENT department for over two decades, retiring at age 65. She was a member of First Lutheran Church for over 40 years never transferring her membership after moving to Spokane. In 2010 she relocated to Spokane, WA to live closer to her children where she was active in the Spokane Compass Club, a newcomers club for women in the Spokane area. She enjoyed ninety-seven years of life, with the ability to travel around the US, and in her 79th year, overseas to Rome, Italy. She cherished her steadfast friends in Fargo and new ones in Spokane.
Bernie and Betty were married for 57 years until his passing in 1995. She had four sons, W. Bernard (Judi), Inver Grove Hts., MN, Larry (Linda), Spokane, WA, Dennis (Beverly), Mansfield, TX, and Richard (Lauri), Bothell, WA; a daughter-in-law Judi McClellan (Bruce), Inver Grove Hts. MN. Grandchildren: Dawn Kubat, Kevin Milsow, Andrea Berndt, Brent Milsow, Tracy Dunlap, and Sarah Guenther, plus great- and great-great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Bernie; her older brothers, Lester, Ralph Wendell, and Elroy, and her eldest son, W. Bernard.
