Lowell Greuel, 91, of Fargo, ND, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Bethany on 42nd in Fargo.

Lowell was born on May 10, 1935 on the family farm near Durbin, ND, to Paul and Lillian (Steinweg) Greuel. He attended rural schools and graduated from Chaffee High School.

He married Elvira Ketterling on July 18, 1959, in Napoleon, ND.

Lowell worked as a carpenter for Art Albright and later worked alongside his son, Charlie. He went on to work for Northern Improvement as a heavy equipment operator and later became a supervisor. He was a quiet entrepreneur and, along with Howard Vogel, purchased a hardware store in Wheaton, MN, which they later sold. He eventually, along with Fred Schlanser Sr., started, owned and operated Master Construction in Fargo before retiring in 1984. He then decided to get into rental property both in farmland and apartment buildings. After retirement, Lowell continued working for Maintenance Engineering.

Lowell enjoyed gardening, horseback riding, and playing cards, but he especially cherished time spent with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending time at his "man cave" on the family farm near Leonard, ND.

Lowell is survived by his children, Krystal (Tim) Boland, Gardner, ND, and Kalvin Greuel, Moorhead, MN; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Harvey; and his sisters, Mabel Kolb and Jeanette Schossow.

Memorial Service: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Calvary Fargo, Fargo, ND, with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
