Lorene Kvittum

Lorene Kvittum, 95, passed away on October 17, 2024. She was born in Erie, ND, on January 4, 1929, to George and Lillian Mitchell.

She started teaching school after a year of college. She married Elvin Kvittum on May 27, 1949. They had three children: Nancy of Casselton, ND, Larry (Kathy) of Clyde, OH, and Ann of Camarillo, CA.

She later became a licensed practical nurse and retired from St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck, ND.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin; parents, George and Lillian; sisters, Lura Uecker, Letha Pueppke; brothers, Byron Mitchell, Eldon Mitchell, and Daniel Mitchell; two nephews, David and Howard; and grandnephew, Michael Pueppke.

She leaves behind her three children, brother-in-law, Glenn Pueppke, nephews, and nieces: Gary Kvittum, Herb Uecker, Steven Pueppke, Jeff Mitchell, Jody Krohn, Debra Cotter, Eric Pueppke, Clinton Pueppke, Elizabeth DeWaters, Julie Mitchell Maxey, George Mitchell, and Joe Mitchell.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, October 25, 2024 at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Farm Rescue Foundation or the American Red Cross in North Carolina.
