Loraine Haas, 87, of Fargo, ND, died Monday, September 28, 2009, at Rosewood on Broadway, Fargo. Loraine Josephine Anderson was born August 21, 1922, in Battle Lake, Minnesota. Her parents were George H. and Caroline (Glende) Anderson. She attended Moorhead State Teacher’s College grade school. She graduated from Moorhead High School with honors. She attended Interstate Business College and then worked for Whitman’s in Fargo as a bookkeeper. She later attended Dakota Business College were she met and married Richard Haas, who preceded her in death in 2002. They were married for 54 wonderful years. Loraine worked over 20 years for HUD/FHA. Richard and Loraine would spend all of their weekends and vacations in their Little Pine lake home. After retiring, they stayed there full time. They were both avid nature lovers and would spend their time bird and animal watching from the large picture window overlooking the lake. Loraine is survived by her sister, Elvera, Fargo, ND; two nephews; one niece; and several cousins. Funeral Service: Thursday, October 1, 2009, at 2:00 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at Hanson-Runsvold. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
