Leora E. (Thedin) Aanestad, 90, died in Tacoma, WA, February 20, 2003. Leora was born in 1912 in Minneapolis, MN to parents H. A. and Agnes (Walsh) Thedin. She graduated High School in 1930 from Morris, MN and received her teaching degree from State Teachers College, Moorhead, MN. In 1933, she married Ragnvald S. Aanestad in Esmond, ND. She taught in rural schools in ND, in Wendell, MN, and at United Day Care in Grand Forks, ND. She was engaged devotedly to Sunday School, music, and Women's programs in her church . She served as the President of the former American Lutheran Church Women in the state of ND. In retirement her interest and participation in the work of the church remained steadfast and constant. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Vivian Dorsey and children, Rachael Eleanor Anne Aanestad and Roald Luther Aanestad. She is survived by her husband, The Rev R. S. Aanestad, Federal Way, WA; her children, Leoralyn McWilliams, Federal Way, WA, Rebecca Brislin ("Jim") Crystal, MN, Raanah Aanestad, Federal Way, WA, and The Rev. D. Rolf Aanestad, Glyndon, MN; 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; sister, Dolores Bekkerus, 7 cousins and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Service: Friday, February 28, 2003, at 2:00 PM, at Concordia Lutheran Church, rural Glyndon, MN. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church. Burial: Rosendal Cemetery, Reynolds, ND.
