Leona Swenson

Leona Swenson, 100, Fargo, ND, died Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at Bethany Homes, Fargo, ND. Leona Grace Swenson was born August 1, 1907, in Wolverton, Minnesota, daughter of Andrew and Johanna (Johnson) Swenson. She graduated from Wolverton High School and from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota, with a B.A. Degree. She taught junior and senior high school for thirty years, including Strandquist, Halstad, Clinton, Hinckley, Warroad and Tyler. During the summer, she attended Moorhead State College and St. Cloud State College and received her Library Science Degree. She spent the last ten years of teaching as High School Librarian. Leona is survived by one sister, Lorraine Swenson, Fargo, ND; four nephews and two nieces; and great nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters and four brothers. Funeral Service: Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at 10:00 AM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Visitation: Monday, April 7, 2008, from 5-7 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold. Burial: Salem Cemetery, Wolverton, Minnesota
