Lennie L. Miller, 98, of Harwood, died Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Elim Nursing Home, Fargo, ND.

Lennie was born June 17, 1915 in Kermit, ND, to Louis and Julie (Swenrud) Miller. After receiving his education, he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC’s) and the Merchant Marines. He married Esther Petterson on August 24, 1950, in Estevan, Saskatchewan, Canada, and they shared 63 years of marriage. Lennie farmed in Noonan, ND and surrounding areas, retiring in 1996. Lennie was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Crosby, ND. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, trapping, hunting, fishing and gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Esther, Fargo, ND; daughters, Judy Walker, Phoenix, AZ; Marilyn (John) Jacobson, Crosby, ND; Karla (Mickey) Dosch, Sheridan, WY; Colette (Bill) Bauer, Fargo, ND; son, Blaine (Candyce) Miller, Crosby, ND; eight grandchildren, Jason Miller, Tara Miller, Jarret Miller, Jonathan Jacobson, Andrea Larson, Karen Qualey, Brian Bauer, Jenna Lawler; 4 great grandchildren; and brother, Louie Miller, Minot, ND; Lennie was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Norman, Evelyn, and Einar.
