Obituary

Larry Raymond Dahlberg, 76, Lisbon, ND, formerly of Fargo, ND, went peacefully home on June 19, 2026.

Larry Raymond Dahlberg was born to Raymond and Betty (Claassen) Dahlberg on March 4, 1950 in Mora, MN. Larry was the oldest of four children, and grew up on the family farm north of Ogilvie, MN, graduating from Ogilvie High School in 1968. He attended Dunwoody Industrial Institute in Minneapolis prior to joining the United States Air Force in 1970. He served 24 years and attained the rank of Master Sergeant, where he was crew chief overseeing aircrafts such as the F-111, F-4, B-52, and F-15's. As part of his service to our nation, he served in the Vietnam Conflict and Operation Desert Storm.

In September 1978, Larry married Joyce Wilinksi in The Netherlands. They raised three children (Christine, Michelle, & Daniel) in the United States and Europe. After his retirement from the military, Larry and his family made their home in Hillsboro, ND and later in Fargo. During this time, he went on to further his education at University of North Dakota and North Dakota State University. He later worked and retired from Noridian/BCBS of North Dakota.

Larry's passions were a morning cup of Jo (Folgers black), camping, spending time with man's best friend: Snuffy, Bailey, Beau, and Zoe (grand dog), military service, his diesel truck, grilling, family get together's, and UND/NDSU games. Larry especially loved his time in the Netherlands, and being surrounded by friends and family wherever home was. He worked tirelessly, and took pride in his beloved children and grandchildren.

Late in life, Larry found peace and joy, and a renewed faith in God during his time at the North Dakota Veteran's Home. Endless gratitude is given to the North Dakota Veteran's Home in Lisbon, ND for the exceptional care and love they provided him.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond & Betty; brother, Richard; and sister, Laura. He is survived by the love of his life, Joyce; children, Christine, Michelle Schroeder (Mark), Daniel (Jenna); brother, Steve (Cathy); nine grandchildren (Jena Mehl, Aodan Mehl, Espen Mehl, Cormack Mehl, Fletcher Mehl, Matthias Mehl, Drew Dahlberg, Ava Dahlberg, & Mason Schroeder), nephews, his best friend, Stan Sveen (and family), and numerous others.

In lieu of flowers, please consider supporting veterans by volunteer work, by visiting them, or to North Dakota Veteran's Home in Lisbon, ND.
