Julie C. Walker

Julene (Julie) C Walker, age 64, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at her home surrounded by friends and family after a brief battle with cancer. She was born August 18, 1954, in Minneapolis, to Cyrus and Virginia (Neimeier) Foss both originally from Buxton, ND. She graduated High School in Bloomington, MN.

She was married to Bill Walker (Stephen, MN) for 6 years, and they welcomed their daughter, Jennifer “Walker” Spiesz, on Sept 12, 1974. Julie graduated from St. Luke’s School of Nursing in 1976 and worked as an RN for St. Luke’s (Sanford) for nearly her entire career.

Many will remember Julie as being an amazing co-worker and always ready to enjoy a good laugh with friends. Julie was well known as a die-hard Vikings fan. Regardless of their record, you could always hear her cheering them on! She was also a big supporter of the Northern Cass Jaguars Volleyball team that her grandchildren have been a part of for 12 years. The constant love and prayers from those closest to her are a direct reflection of how she was such a positive light in the people’s lives that she touched.

She is survived by her mother, Virginia Foss; Daughter Jennifer (Jason) Spiesz; three grandchildren, Tori (Jordan) Schmidt, Kyle Spiesz, and Samantha Spiesz; her life partner of over 25 years, Dennis Olson and his son Jeff (Molly) Olson and their two young children, Avery and Aiden Olson.

She was preceded in death by her father, Cyrus Foss, and her mother & father-in-law, Burt and Hazel Walker (Stephen, MN).

Family, friends, and others whose lives Julie touched are invited to a Celebration of Life at 7:00pm on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND to reminisce about our favorite memories of Julie (if you are willing to share, please bring a favorite memory). Visitation will take place for one hour prior to the service.

Burial of her ashes will take place at a later date.
