Joyce M. Lindvig, 84, Fargo, North Dakota went to her heavenly home on Thursday, May 7, 2015. “Joycie”, as called by her family and close friends, will be deeply missed and remembered for her sense of humor and loving heart.
Joyce was born June 2, 1930 in Fargo to Agnes and Knute Klakeg. She attended Clara Barton School through sixth grade. After moving to north Fargo, she went to Horace Mann, Roosevelt, and Fargo Central High School where she graduated in 1948. She then attended North Dakota State University and was a Kappa Alpha Theta. For three years, she worked at Merchant's National Bank as a Safety Deposit Box Officer.
On August 28, 1953, she married the love of her life, Andrew (Andy) L. Lindvig at Olivet Lutheran Church. In 1954, they began building their cottage on Little Detroit Lake, where she loved spending time with her family. Her hobbies were numerous including bowling, bridge, golfing, reading, gardening, canning, cooking and entertaining at the lake, as well as raising their two children. Joyce loved being involved at First Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Abigail Circle and served on various committees, including being instrumental in establishing a church youth program. She was also a member of PEO.
Joyce is survived by her husband Andy, 86; brother Clayton Klakeg, 94, Santa Barbara, CA; son Bruce Lindvig (Pam), Scottsdale, AZ; daughter Kathy Nelson (Dale), Detroit Lakes, MN; and her 4 grandchildren, Clayton, Christopher, Austin and Erica.
