Joan Linde was born on May 22, 1933, and died September 4, 2023, at the age of 90, at the Sanford Hospice House in Fargo, ND. She was raised on a farm outside Litchville, ND. Her parents were Chris and Ema Olson. Joan had seven sisters and three brothers. After graduating from Litchville High School, Joan went to the Mercy School of Nursing in Valley City, ND and became a Registered Nurse.

After marrying Wallace (Swede) Linde in 1954, she moved to a farm outside Churchs Ferry, ND. They were married for 61 years. During this time, Joan worked as a registered nurse at Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake, ND, on the surgical floor and later as a nurse in the local clinic. She was also very active in the farming operation.

She was active in the community at Zion Lutheran Church in Churchs Ferry and later Messiah Lutheran Church in Fargo. After retiring, Joan and Swede moved to north Fargo to be closer to their daughter. They loved to attend their grandchildren's sporting activities. Joan and Swede enjoyed spending time with the north Fargo neighbors in the Sunwood addition.

After Swede's death, Joan moved to Touchmark for the following 7 ½ years as she battled with Alzheimer's Disease.

She is survived by her daughter, JoNell Moore, West Fargo, ND; and grandchildren, Preston (Jessica) Koenig, Minneapolis, MN, Megan (Nicholas) Flom, Grand Forks, ND, Tyler (Stefanie) Koenig, Scottsdale, AZ, and Terry (Teresa) Linde, Devils Lake, ND; and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Janice (O’Neil) Oppegaard, Valley City, ND; and brother, Curtis (Myrna) Olson, Ivins, UT; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Swede; her sons, Jeff, Scott, and Craig; and daughter, Elizabeth; sisters, Evelyn Peterson, Avis Busche, Myrtice Hektner, Arzelle Haseleu, Lois Rodlend, Joyce Ryg; and brothers, Dale Olson and Alan Olson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Messiah Lutheran Church, 2010 Elm St N, Fargo, ND 58102; or Sanford Hospice House, 820 4th St N, Fargo, ND 58122.

Memorial Service: 11 am, Monday, September 11, 2023, at Messiah Lutheran Church with a visitation one hour prior. The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website.
Burial: Churchs Ferry Cemetery, Churchs Ferry, ND.
