Irene Stone

Irene Stone, 82, of Moorhead, MN, died Saturday, July 17, 2010, at Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead. Irene G. Biewer was born August 28, 1927, in Lidgerwood, North Dakota, daughter of Joseph and Anna (Renner) Biewer. She attended school in Lidgerwood. Irene married Ronald Hanson Stone February 14, 1953, in Moorhead, Minnesota. She worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital in the housekeeping department, retiring in 1989. Irene loved dancing with Ron, gardening and playing the harmonica. She played a great rendition of “Oh! Susanna.” She is survived by her husband, Ron, Moorhead, MN; her son, William (Karla) Stone, Horace, ND; two daughters, Linda (Bradley) Matsui, Newcastle, CA; Lori (Donny Walz) Morrison, Moorhead, MN; four grandchildren, Allyson Stone, Fargo, ND; Andy Stone, Horace, ND; Tera Morrison, Fargo, ND; and Ty Morrison, Moorhead, MN; her sisters, Annie Sherbrooke, Glenwood, MN; and Helen Gentert, Hanford, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Charles, Nicholas, Clara Poduska, Frances Sprau, Louise Koenig, Marie Ficek, and step-sister, Agnes Coster. The family extends a special thanks to the staff of Eventide and Hospice of the Red River Valley.
