Herbert Ellenson, 99, of Starbuck, MN, formerly of Fargo, ND and Gardner, ND, died Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Minnewaska Lutheran Nursing Home, Starbuck, MN. He was born on January 19, 1913 in Noble Township, ND to Emil and Hannah (Narum) Ellenson. He attended Keene School. He started farming in 1937 in Noble Township. On October 25, 1941, he married Geneva Fjelstad in Perley, MN. Together they raised four children and they resided in Gardner, ND. He was a member of Nora Lutheran Church, the Moose and Eagles Club in Gardner and the Perley Rod and Gun Club. Herbert operated the grocery store in Perley, MN for several years and also worked at Agway Elevator in Gardner, ND. Herbert is survived by his wife; three daughters, Barbara Johnson, Starbuck, MN; Janet (Paul) Bonn, Phoenix, AZ; and Patricia Trifari, Carefree, AZ; three grandsons; brother, Curtis (Lois) Ellenson, Fargo, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Wayne Michael Ellenson; brother, Maynard; and sister, Gladys. Funeral Service: Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 2:00PM at Nora Lutheran Church, Gardner, ND. Visitation: One hour prior to the services at church. Burial: Nora Lutheran Cemetery.
