Helen Hanson Solverson, 90, of Moorhead, Minnesota, died peacefully in her home on Tuesday, March 13, 2007, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley and her loving family. Helen Margaret Hanson Solverson was born Helen Margaret Santarsiero July 30, 1916, in St. Paul, Minnesota. She attended grade school, high school and business college in St. Paul. She married Paul Arthur Hanson in July of 1948. They made their home in Fargo, North Dakota, where they raised their three children. Paul died on December 13, 1966. During the late 1960’s and early 1970’s, she worked for the Hallmark Remembrance Shop in downtown Fargo. In 1976, Helen married George Solverson in Moorhead, Minnesota. George passed away in 1986. Helen was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Moorhead and actively volunteered for work at the church. She also took tremendous joy in her volunteer work with the Minn-Kota Chapter of the Red Cross. Helen is survived by her three children, Linda Friend, Madison WI; David (Pamela) Hanson, Fargo, ND; Laurie Hanson, Fargo, ND; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
