Haldis Nelson

Haldis Nelson, 94, of Fargo, ND, died Saturday, February 4, 2012, at Bethany Retirement Living, Fargo. Haldis Louise Olson was born April 2, 1917 in Fargo, ND to Christ and Yterina (Peterson) Olson. She grew up in Fargo and graduated from Central High School. Haldis worked for an eye clinic before marrying Hilbert A. Nelson on July 20, 1940 in Fargo. They moved to Christine, ND in 1947 where they operated Nelson’s Grocery. She retired in 1985. Hilbert died in 1993. She moved back to Fargo and lived at Bethany Homes the past several years. She is survived by two daughters, Carol Payne, Coeur d’Alene, ID and Diane Wiltse, Green Bay, WI; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Funeral: Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 10:00AM in the Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Chapel, Fargo, ND. Visitation: One hour prior to services at Hanson-Runsvold. Burial: Pioneer Cemetery, Christine, ND.
