Gladys Waltz, 96, of Fargo, ND, died Friday, September 5, 2014 at Sanford Health, Fargo.
Gladys was born to Emmanuel and Elene (Jacobson) Nelson, February 2, 1918 near Ada, MN, where she was raised on a farm. Gladys attended school and graduated from High School in Ada, MN. She moved to Fargo and graduated from the New York Hairdressing Academy.
She married Henry Waltz in 1941 and moved to St. Paul where Henry was stationed in WWII. They had three children, Marlene, Kathy and Mark.
After WWII they moved back to Fargo where they raised their three children.
She continued to live in her home until her death on September 5, 2014.
Gladys enjoyed her family, friends, the Twins baseball team, chocolate, playing cards and spending the winters in her home in Arizona.
She is survived by her children, Marlene (Robert Knappe) Jones, Menomonie, WI, Kathy (Laurie) McMerty, Bismarck, ND and Mark (Susan) Waltz, Hickson, ND; eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry in 2000; parents; brother, Norvel Nelson; sister, Ester Blankenship and son-in-law, Gordon Jones.
