Gladys Mcnutt

Gladys McNutt, 90 years old, of Fargo, ND, passed away on July 22, 2010, at Sanford Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Fargo. Gladys, the youngest of five children, was born November 26, 1919, in Goodell, Iowa, to Charles and Amanda Halfpop. She graduated from Goodell High School in 1936, and was married to Alfred McNutt (who preceded her in death) for 64 years. Gladys and Al made their first home in Chaska, Minnesota, where their three children were born: Katherine (Sonny) Strawn of Conyers, GA; Dr. Wesley (Linda) McNutt of Fargo, ND; Paul (Elizabeth) McNutt, also of Fargo. After 10 years, she and her family moved to Fargo. Gladys was a member of the Shepherd of the Prairie Moravian Church where she was active in the Naomi circle and taught Sunday school for several years. She was also a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She worked at the 7 Up Bottle Company, Northern School Supply and the northside Ben Franklin store. Gladys loved spending time with her family. She had nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Gladys loved working in her flower garden, crocheting and listening to piano music. She was a fabulous apple and rhubarb pie maker, and her wonderful coffee cake, Selma’s sugar cookies and potato salad are great missed, too. Funeral Service: Monday, July 26, 2010, at 11:00 AM, at Shepherd of the Prairie Church, south Fargo. Visitation: Sunday, July 25, 2010, from 3-5 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home with Prayer Service at 4:30 PM. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
