Gay Grefe, 66, of Denver, Colorado, died December 12, 2010, in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN. Gay Arlan Grefe was born November 23, 1944, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Henry “Hank” C. and Virginia “Billie” (Ruf) Grefe. She attended elementary school there before moving to Fargo, North Dakota. She graduated from Fargo Central in 1962 and Bemidji State University in 1966. Gay later completed her Masters Degree in Education from Denver University. Gay taught 3rd grade in Denver, until retiring. Gay was an avid sports fan, especially the Broncos, Vikings, Rockies and Twins. She played tennis and was an enthusiastic golfer. Although she loved Denver, the mountains and her many friends in Denver, she always came home at Christmas and in the summers to be with her family and visit with her Central High “pot luck” friends. Gay is survived by her parents, Hank and Billie Grefe, Fargo, ND; her sister, Jan (Steven) Ferguson, Alexandria, MN; three nephews, Chad (Kristi) Ferguson; Todd (Molly)Ferguson; Scott (Angela)Ferguson; and great-nephews and great-nieces, Michael Ferguson; Kebyn Ferguson; Tyler Ferguson; Daniel Ferguson; Eddie Ferguson; Megan Ferguson; Brianna Ferguson; Marcella Ferguson; Ava Ferguson; Lucia Ferguson; Clare Ferguson. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley. Memorial Service: Wednesday, December 15, 2010, at 11:00 AM, at Olivet Lutheran Church, Fargo.
