Gavin Brandenburger, 15, Fargo, ND passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

Gavin Dean Brandenburger was born in Kearney, Nebraska on January 16, 2011, to Craig and Nikki (Krohnfeldt) Brandenburger. They moved to Fargo before Gavin’s first birthday. He attended Horace Mann/Roosevelt and Longfellow Elementary Schools and Ben Franklin Middle School. He was going into his sophomore year as a Fargo North High School Spartan.

Gavin loved horsing around with his little brother Graham. He loved teaching him all his interests, especially basketball. He enjoyed going on family camping trips and sitting around a cozy fire making the perfect smore’s marshmallow or in a hammock with his favorite book to pass the time. Sometimes his mom could even convince him to play a round of Cribbage or Farkle with her. His favorite activity was lounging around the house and watching TV with his best buddy, his cat Rufus, on his lap.

He loved spending time and staying the night with all his friends. He could be found at the Y or in the Fargo North fitness center playing basketball or lifting weights. He was an avid gamer and loved watching movies and listening to music. He loved reading and hated missing school since it created more homework.

Gavin was an old soul that could strike up a conversation with anyone and best known for his sparkling smile and dimple that could cheer up your worst mood. He was kind to all and was a fast friend to everyone he encountered. His teachers could count on him as a leader and helper in their classrooms.

On Saturday, August 8, 2026, there will be a visitation at 9:30AM with a Celebration of Life following at 11AM. The venue will be Hope Lutheran Church - North at 2900 N Broadway Dr, Fargo, ND 58102.

There will be blank foam boards that we also ask you to bring your favorite photos to post of Gavin to share with everyone in attendance.
