Obituary

Floyd Everett Wehr, 83 passed away suddenly on July 2, 2013 at his home in Fargo.
He was born on May 18, 1930 in Anamoose, ND, the only child of Arthur and Martha Wehr. As he grew up, he worked in his Father’s gas station and radio repair shop where he had to learn enough German to sell items and make change.

He enjoyed photography, developing and printing his own pictures. He also hunted partridge, ducks and geese, as they were plentiful just a few miles from town.

After graduating from High School, he entered the Army Air Corps and was sent to Texas for basic training where he contacted German measles. Finishing training, he was sent to Japan and Korea. Returning to the U.S., he was at Advanced Radio School in Illinois, where he met Doris. They were married in 1952, in Waverly, IA. After his discharge, he worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Co., in Williston, Tioga, Minot and Fargo, ND. He retired in December of 1983 when the company became U.S. West.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Martha.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Denise Wehr; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Sam Hales; three grandchildren, Sarah, Andrew and Elizabeth and three great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Jack and Finn.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Legion, VFW or ND State Veteran’s Cemetery, Mandan.
