Florence Roholt, 98, deeply loved Mother, Sister, Mother-in-law, and Grandmother was called to peace on September 7, 2024.
She was born on July 3, 1926 in Minneapolis, MN, born to Carl and Linnea Moreus. Florence graduated from Roosevelt HS in Minneapolis and worked as a secretary for several years before marrying the love of her life, Denny Roholt in September 1950. The two met in confirmation class when they were in the 8th grade and were so happy to celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary. Florence and Denny lived a full life together in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Arizona. The two of them traveled in the US and Scandinavia and were involved as a couple with the fraternal organizations that Denny was a member of. They loved to dance. It was always a highlight to see them take to the dance floor or the kitchen floor; to move as one, so obviously enjoying each other and the music.
Along with Denny, throughout her lifetime she made and maintained deep relationships with neighbors and friends, whether they were next-door and across the country. They truly had the best neighbors in the world. Florence was fiercely independent and enjoyed her time alone to read and keep in contact with friends and family.
At 96, she moved across the country to live with her daughter and daughter-in-law. She passed away at home, and we are grateful for the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley during her last months.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Roholt; daughter-in-law, Mary Lee Clarens; brother, Richard (Carolynne) Moreus; sister, Carol (Bill) Lahti; sister-in-law, Francis Mueffleman; grandson, Joshua French; along with nieces and nephews, Sandra Alford, Douglas Alford, Bob Muefflemann, David Lahti, Sara Lund, Michelle Colbert, Steven Moreus, and Angela Marie, and their children. Florence was warmly embraced by Cindy & Lee's extended family of friends during her time in Fargo. They added so much to her life; especially Helen Velishek.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Florence will be interred at Fort Snelling along with her beloved husband, Denny on September 24, 2024. Memorials in her name can be made to Turtle Mountain Animal Rescue.
