Evan Arthur Tweten, 22, much beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend, died at home in West Fargo, North Dakota on Monday, April 18, 2016.
He was born August 30, 1993 in Elk Grove Village, IL, the son of Erik and Carol (Liddle) Tweten. He moved to Europe with his family shortly after his birth and resided in both England and Germany. He was very well-traveled by the time he returned to the United States at the age of 6, and kept a love of travel and adventure his whole life.
Evan was a people person; at any given time the more friends and family he had around him, the better. He had a passion for music and attending concerts with his friends. He loved conversation, to laugh and to make others laugh . . . he was an entertainer. He kept everyone on their toes. There was never a dull moment in his company.
The words of family and friends best capture his extraordinary spirit:
“Your contagious laughter, uncanny ability to tell a story and rare personality will be missed.”
“He was hands down one of the most intelligent, intuitive people . . . and had a hilarious sense of humor . . .”
“The world lost an amazing character and a wonderful friend. Evan brought sunshine to my soul and tears of laughter to my eyes.”
“He was so much more than his addiction and the mental illness he suffered with each day. He was a soccer player, world traveler and most importantly, child of our Almighty God!”
Evan is survived by his parents; his brother Eion; maternal grandparents, Chester and Camilla Liddle, Alexandria, VA; and his paternal grandmother, June Tweten, Fargo. He is also survived by aunts and uncles: Linda (Matthew) Blackington; Steve (Kelly Eggen) Tweten; Bill Tweten; Liz (Bernard) Sanborn; Margaret (Greg) Asheim; Dan (Annetta) Tweten; Jon (Jessica) Tweten; Deb Tweten and Kathy Tweten; and many cousins.
Evan was preceded in death by his grandfather, Malcolm Tweten, and a cousin, Christopher Sanborn.
