Eva Hass

Eva Hass, 95, Fargo, ND, died Monday October 19, 2009, at Elim Care Center in Fargo, ND. Eva Louise Sitz was born December 31, 1913, the daughter of Emil and Marie (Jandt) Sitz. She grew up in rural Drake, ND. Her education was at Lake George Township School and Drake High School. Eva was united in marriage to Henry O. Hass on May 20, 1937, at Immanuel Lutheran Church north of Drake where they were members. They farmed for 31 years. After they retired from farming in 1968, they moved to Fargo where Eva worked at the NDSU food service and Henry worked at the Veteran’s Hospital. They joined Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fargo. Eva and Henry enjoyed good health and traveled on a number of trips visiting Washington, DC, Niagara Falls, New England States, New Orleans, the Rocky Mountains, Oregon Rose Festival and short trips to Winnipeg and Minneapolis. They enjoyed all kinds of sports never missing events of their grandchildren and children. Eva retired from NDSU the spring of 1981, at the age of 67. Henry retired from the VA in 1980, at 73 years old. Eva and Henry celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on May 20, 2004. She is survived by two sons, Evan (Carol) Hass, Fargo; Duane (Marlene) Hass, Coon Rapids, MN; daughter-in-law, Deanne (Jerry) Larson; five grandchildren, Debra Stulz, Derek Hass, Kristine Borene, Brian Hass, and Jonathan Hass plus nine great-grandchildren, Amanda Heitkamp, Ashley Heitkamp, Allie Borene, Nickolas Borene, Hawken Hass, Dixon Hass, Hayden Stulz, Dalton Stulz and Isaac Hass Eva was preceded in death by Henry; and her son, Arnold; as well as brothers, Paul, Theodore, Emil; and sisters, Emma, Selma and Hildegard. Services will be held at 11:00 AM CDT, Friday October 23, 2009 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fargo. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
